Architectural coatings USA provider

Automotive & marine coatings US producer: Aluminum oxide is a naturally occurring mineral that provides an extremely long-lasting protective coating on hardwood floors. It protects the floor from scratches, fading, water damage, scuffs, and general wear and tear without changing the color of the wood or hiding its grain. Available in several levels of shine, it can go on as matte or as shiny as you’d like. You won’t apply this yourself, though; aluminum oxide is only available as an option on prefinished flooring planks. On the downside, it’s not easy to remove or restore the aluminum oxide finish if there comes a time that you eventually want to touch up damage or switch to a different finish. You’ll need to call in pros to tackle the job, possibly even replace the floorboards. Still, if you want the most durable hardwood floor finish—it can last up to 25 years—that’s also low maintenance and you like the idea of installing wood flooring that’s already finished and ready to go, aluminum oxide is a good choice.

The flooring specialist must be able to provide a complete program from conception to long-term maintenance. The process should include the following. The first step in the selection process is to evaluate the existing surface to determine what you are working with. The surface must be structurally sound, clean, and must not be contaminated with any foreign material that could interfere with the bond of a new coating system. This includes concrete curing compounds. Is the surface distressed in any way? Does it have cracks, spalls, or unevenness? Does the coating system require a level floor or one that slopes to a drain? Patching, repairing, and leveling are as important as the coating system and would require a whole separate article to discuss thoroughly. It is important to say, however, that any material used to level, patch, or slope must be compatible with the total system.

GripCote Ultra is a fantastic product that has been created for application on tightly woven and artistic floor coverings. This includes Indian or Persian area rugs, hallway runners, wool and cotton throw rugs used indoors, on patios or other covered areas. It will greatly reduce, if not eliminate slipping or potential peeling back of all rugs it is applied. It will also prolong the life of the rug, by adding a rubberized non-slip grip coating on the bottom of the rug it is applied. See additional info at here.
