Looking for Dog nutritionist specialist in Denver? Meet Gillian, a certified Canine Therapeutic Massage Therapist (CTMT) Advanced Canine Massage Therapist (ACMT) and a member of International Association of Animal Massage & Body Works (IAAMB). In addition, Gillian continues to keep up with the latest research, learning as much as she can to bring a holistic cooperative approach to animal well-care, sharing tips with animal owners to help care for their animal companions

Massage is known for its ability to offer both mental and physical relaxation. Physical touch reduces stress and has been shown to alleviate anxiety and aggression in nervous dogs. They become more used to human interaction and are positively rewarded for it by the physical pleasures of massage, all while healing their emotions. Calming and relaxing your dog will also help heal traumas and illnesses, so the relaxation aspect of massage helps here too.

Certified Karuna and Reiki Master, Gillian Edwards, skillfully invites universal life force energy to pass through her into the animal—to open blocks that cause illness, fear and emotional rigidity. Her years of experience in practicing Reiki on both humans and animals, provide a source of deep relaxation, stress reduction and healing through balance. While Gillian stresses that Reiki should never replace conventional veterinary medicine, she can provide healing energy to complement traditional and alternative animal medical treatment, as well as help with an animal’s emotional and spiritual well-being. Reiki’s an ancient Japanese healing practice. It involves the channeling of a natural healing energy from its divine source into a subject. The divine energy is believed to enter the Reiki practitioner through the crown chakra on the top of the head. It then flows through the practitioner and out through the palms of the hands.

Reiki energy can be given to your dog in regularly scheduled intervals or as needed. Because it is a gentle and non-invasive energy modality, it can be used safely with any animal no matter the age, size or breed. Recently I provided Reiki for my client’s dog that was suffering from a chronic ear infection. The veterinarian prescribed some ear ointment that needed to be placed in both ears of their dog twice a day for two weeks. This can be a real challenge when a dog is not feeling well and doesn’t want you to touch it, let alone place a greasy ointment in its ears. I provided Reiki for their dog each day in order to support the dog’s physical healing as well as to provide a calming energy for their dog. This allowed their dog to stay calm during each of the twice-daily ointment treatments and their dog accepted them doing the treatments by lying still during these times.

Canine Massage Helps Calm Coco: Many of us know how stressful it is to have work done on our homes. Sometimes, it can be even worse for our pets. Already a bit cautious, Coco was quite anxious after living through a recent home remodel. “Gillian has been amazing with our dog Coco. He is very cautious around people and it takes him a while to warm up to them. Also, Coco has been disturbed by a recent home remodel. Even under these circumstances, Gillian managed to get through to Coco, gaining his trust. At the first appointment, Coco would not let Gillian touch his paws or back half, but through communication and sensitivity, she made great progress and is now able to fully massage Coco. Thanks to Gillian, we see positive changes in Coco’s disposition. She also gave us some tips on how to continue to calm Coco.” Source: https://fourpawsholistictherapy.com/.
